Seat Reservation

(using a rail pass)
If you purchase a rail pass with JR-EAST Train Reservation

Reservation available from

10 am (JST) one month before the boarding date until 6 minutes before departure time

If you purchase an exchange order for a rail pass at travel agencies

Reservation available from

10 am (JST) one month before the boarding date until 11:50 pm (JST) on the two days before the boarding date

*You must receive tickets by 9 pm (JST) on the day before the boarding date

Ticket Purchase

10 am (JST) one month before the boarding date until 6 minutes before departure time

*E-tickets are available for purchase until the train's scheduled departure time.

*A basic fare ticket is required to take any trains.
(IC cards can also be used as a basic fare ticket if it’s inside the IC card usable area.)
If you don’t have one, please purchase one when selecting a train you will take.

Trains that you can reserve
(only for JR Hokkaido area)

  • Hokkaido Shinkansen
  • Limited express trains (Hokuto, Suzuran, Ozora, Tokachi, Lilac, Kamui, Okhotsk, Soya, Sarobetsu)

★There are e-tickets for reserved seats on the Special Rapid Airport, Rapid Airport, and Semi-Rapid Airport trains.
(A basic fare ticket or IC card is required separately)

*You cannot reserve seats for temporary trains, sightseeing trains and local trains.
e.g.) Furano Biei Norokko Train, Furano Lavender Express, Kushiro Shitsugen Norokko Train, SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train, Ryuhyo Monogatari Train etc.

How and where to
receive tickets

Please receive the tickets you purchased and reserved before boarding.
Stations may be crowded. Please give yourself extra time to receive tickets.
